Lombok, 19 October 2025 — Merumatta Senggigi Hotel, under PT Senggigi Pratama Internasional (“SPI”), a subsidiary of PT Wijaya Karya Realty (“WIKA Realty”), once again held the Merumatta Half Marathon 2025 (“MHM 2025”) on Sunday (19/10). This sport tourism event recorded high enthusiasm, with all 1,000 participant slots filled before race day, further strengthening Senggigi’s position as a leading sports and tourism destination in Lombok.

From the hotel’s operational perspective, MHM 2025 delivered a real impact on local economic activity. General Manager of Merumatta Senggigi, Fahrurrazi, stated that hotel occupancy experienced a significant surge. “Room occupancy increased from 80 to a full 130 rooms on race day, and all hotels surrounding Merumatta were also fully booked. The impact was felt across accommodation, transportation, and MSMEs,” he said. This year’s race featured three categories—5K, 10K, and 21K—passing through Senggigi’s coastal and hilly landscapes.

President Director of SPI, Kukuh, emphasized that the event was designed to bring tangible benefits to the region. “Sport tourism has proven effective in driving the economy. Through the Merumatta Half Marathon, we want to ensure that its benefits extend beyond the event and flow directly to the surrounding businesses,” he said. This aligns with the strategy to strengthen Senggigi’s positioning through consistent national-scale events.
