WIKA Realty Welcomes Industrial Visit from Polnes Samarinda Students, Exploring Infrastructure Systems at Tamansari Grand Samarinda

Jakarta, April 21, 2025 — PT Wijaya Karya Realty (“WIKA Realty”) welcomed an industrial visit from the Architecture Study Program of Politeknik Negeri Samarinda (“Polnes”) to the Tamansari Grand Samarinda complex, one of WIKA Realty’s properties located in East Kalimantan, on Monday (24/03). The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into household waste management systems connected to urban drainage and rainwater catchment systems. A total of 50 students participated in the activity, accompanied by the Head of the Architecture Study Program, Hatta Mustafa.

The students visited the Kakaban Cluster to study the flow of rainwater and household waste, observing control chambers and the in-house rainwater catchment system that channels water to a closed drainage system in front of the units. They also examined inlet drains serving as a secondary catchment in front of the houses, and followed the drainage flow leading to the Kakaban cluster’s detention pond (bendali).

The visit continued to the Maya Cluster, where students compared similar systems on a different terrain contour to gain a broader understanding of drainage planning and wastewater management. They then received an explanation about the man-made lake within Tamansari Grand Samarinda. Arief explained that the lake's cleanliness is maintained as each cluster’s drainage system channels water through its respective detention pond before being discharged into the main provincial drainage system on Jalan H.A.M.M. Rifadin.

As part of WIKA Realty’s commitment to its Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) program in the education sector, the company consistently supports initiatives that enhance students’ knowledge and skills. Through this industrial visit, WIKA Realty contributes to bridging classroom theory with real-world application, particularly in area planning, waste management, and sustainable drainage systems.

M. Arief Rakhman, Engineering & Maintenance of Tamansari Grand Samarinda Residence, warmly welcomed the Architecture Department’s visit and introduced WIKA Realty and the Tamansari Grand Samarinda area. “Tamansari Grand Samarinda is one of WIKA Realty’s developments and represents our largest land development in Samarinda, spanning 100 hectares,” said Arief.
